California Sands Estate and Sunbeach Holiday Village are side by side on California Road and guests can use the facilities available on both sites.
Buses for Great Yarmouth, Hemsby and Caister-on-Sea stop adjacent to the sites. The Great Yarmouth bus stops in the centre of town near all the shops and during the summer months there is a bus which goes along the full length of the promenade.
The sandy beach at California is only a few minutes walk from your chalet. Near
the entrance to the beach is the California Tavern with it's beer garden, children's
play area, pool table and restuarant. Live entertainment is provided on Friday
and Saturday nights with a quiz night on Sundays.
Adjacent to the California Tavern is a fish and chip restuarant & takeaway, amusements and a small supermarket selling beach toys and groceries.
In the same locality is the Beachcomber Club which also provides live entertainment.
Nearby is a Chinese take away and an amusement/Bingo arcade.
Other sites nearby have swimming pools and licenced clubs.
Along Beach Road, Scratby (10-15 minutes walk) there are supermarkets, garden centre, clock museum, gift shops, hairdresser, launderette, fish and chips and restuarants.
There is a golf course and facilities for horse riding within a few minutes drive.
The Norfolk Broads
Just minutes away by car and with fantastic sailing, cruising and river trips. Enjoy the
picturesque scenes of windmills and churches. Try fishing, walking, bird watching,
or cycling.
For the less energetic - just sit and relax at one of the many waterside pubs and cafes and watch the world go by.
Great Yarmouth
The nearby town of Great Yarmouth provides entertainment for everyone with its piers,
sandy beaches, boating lake, amusements and attractions as well as its array of eating and drinking establishments.
There are various nightclubs for those who enjoy partying into the small hours.
Theatres, a cinema and even a circus are there to provide enjoyment for you and your family.
There is also the racecourse, greyhound racing, stock car racing, the Pleasure Beach and a casino to provide that additional entertainment.
The town centre with it's shopping centre has many shops to cater for your needs whether it be food, clothes, children's toys or a stick of Great Yarmouth rock. Regent Street is a pedestrianised area with many shops and Cafes and it joins the town centre to the seafront. Bargains can be had at the market and at the many car boot sales held throughout the area.
Great Yarmouth Market Days are Wednesdays and Saturdays with an extra market on Fridays during the summer. Early closing is Thursday.
For those who like to be active there are Tennis Courts, Bowling Greens, Basketball, Crazy Golf and Ten Pin Bowling. Nearby Golf courses cater for those interested in improving their handicap.
The Marina Centre along the sea front caters for a variety of tastes as well as swimming.
